Today seems warmer than yesterday. And after breakfast, we had a lecture about different birds given by steve lonheed. I still can’t catch much of the proper words about biology. Then we had a birds walk. We walked along the roads around the QUBS to find woodpeckers and other birds. But the forest was very quiet today. We didn’t find any woodpecker but a red squirrel and many bluegays. We even saw three horses and feed them much grass. They are two red ones and one white one. They should be home horses. On the way we came back to QUBS, we saw many squirrels carrying walnuts jumped before us. It was the first time I saw the walnut tree. And found many walnuts on the ground around the tree. The walnut is a kind of green fruit with kernel which is the part we usually eat. It smells like a lemon. We grab walnuts with squirrels and pick the kernel from the walnut using stone to scrap them and eat directly. It tastes really fresh.
We also made vegetable soup learned from luomei. Because we aren’t used to having the green vegetables directly. We just need to put the vegetables and hot water together into a bowl then put them into the microwave oven one minute. Then a bowl of vegetable soup is done. We also ate rice brought by lifeng yang from shanghai. They are all so delicious.
We went canoeing in the afternoon. Firstly, professor wang taught us how to canoe and told us Canadians can canoe everyone. Then we divided into three groups to canoe. One canoe can only contain four people at most. And we need to be much careful to stand on the canoe. If we can’t keep balance, the canoe will turn over. And we only have one rope to pull him back. The drop one can’t go back to the canoe immediately as the canoe will sink. We set off after the teaching. Because of the motorboat’s waves, one canoe just turned over and three guys dropped into the lake. They all got wet. Their life in Canada is integrity. We also canoe to a small island in the middle lake to have icecream there.
After supper, professor said he would drive us to go shopping. And we went to the letouts to buy many clothes and after the shopping the professor treated us to go to the wing center. The wings have 101 flavors. We all had a delicious night snack. We ordered peppery wings and it’s too hot to eat for me.
We all had a very colorful day today!
